Read for Life Gala - A Tremendous Success

Proud sponsors of the Kern Literacy Council

An outstanding time was had by everyone who attended the Read for Life Gala. The Kern Literacy Council netted $66,000 helping us continue to provide free tutoring services to those in need in Kern County.  This is over $10,000 more than KLC netted last year.  This is important because we are growing rapidly as the need is so high.

Thank you to our sponsors! Without them, this event would not be possible.  Our major sponsors are highlighted in the slideshow.  A huge thank you to Chevron, California Resources Corporation, The Don and Diane Family Foundation, John and Sheila Lake Family, McCormick Biological, Kern Federal Credit Union, State Farm, Dignity Health - Memorial Hospital, Aera Energy, Grimmway Farms, and KGET 17.

Our deepest appreciation go to Kyle and Kim Carter for making their lovely estate available for this year's event.  It was beautiful.
