Book Vending Machine Program
In early 2024, the Youth Literacy Committee orchestrated the opening of a free book vending machine at Harvest Elementary School in Delano. This resource will inspire more students to read and will provide them even easier access to the books they love. Special congratulations to Carter Beardsley for spearheading this project!

With the help of local business owners throughout Kern County, the Kern Literacy Council has been providing stocked bookshelves for children and parents alike to enjoy while they do their laundry.
